Edmonton Public Schools (10+ years teaching experience)
Pauline has taught the Science 30 course for the past 6 years in a large Edmonton high school and has worked with Alberta Education on item writing for the Science 30 diploma for the past 4 years. This experience has been invaluable to Pauline as this has given her a better understanding of the type of diploma questions students will face. She has been able to use this knowledge to ensure students understand the many concepts that are covered in Science 30. Pauline’s passion for teaching comes from her desire to show her students the connections between the classroom and the world.
Pauline loves to travel and when presented with the opportunity will spend hours in science museums. Her top 3 most memorable exhibits so far were seeing a pair of Gregor Mendel’s glasses, Watson and Crick’s DNA model and Robert Hooke’s microscope.
