Chris Ferguson
B.Ed, University of Alberta (Teaching major in Physics)
Archbishop MacDonald High School (13+ years teaching experience)

Chris is a teacher who looks forward to each and every class he teaches. A self-admitted "science nerd", Chris loves to share his interest in the wonders of the physical world. Through storytelling, current research, and a fresh theoretical outlook to the course his goal is to have his students leave class with the same passion he has for the subject. Chris' background with Alberta Education includes both marking and question development for the Physics 30 diploma. Chris also has experience teaching and marking Science 30

Away from the traditional classroom Chris finds his second part of his job at the hockey rink. Passionate towards the game of hockey Chris is a Lead Instructor for the St. Francis Xavier High School Hockey Academy. Whether teaching a wrist shot or a complex physics concept, Chris' passion towards teaching is evident and his students find themselves leaving class much more confident in their skills!

Phil Goldthorpe
B.Ed, B.Sc, University of Alberta
Edmonton Public School Board – 15 years

Phil is phenomenally effective and personable math and physics instructor at Strathcona High School. He brings his talents to RTD with a very strong background teaching Physics 30, having created his own workbook for use at his school and throughout EPSB. Last January his review was extremely well received and over three-quarters of his students who completed our survey reported increasing their mark on the diploma. Outside of the classroom Phil is an avid cyclist.
