Dean Walls
BEd, MEd University of Alberta
EPSB - Ross Sheppard

Dean Walls comes to us from Edmonton’s Ross Sheppard High School, where he has taught all levels of math, including calculus. A graduate of the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean, he is completely bilingual, so feel free to ask your questions en français! Dean's work with Alberta Education, his involvement in textbook review, and his graduate work in pursuit of his Master's degree have thoroughly enriched his understanding of our curriculum and its intentions. When he's not teaching math, Dean can often be found in the gym coaching basketball, cycling around town, or in the pool swimming lengths. He is a passionate and high energy teacher and can’t wait to help you rock the diploma!

Pat Scuir

With over 34 years of math teaching experience with Elk Island Public Schools in Sherwood Park, twenty of those years acting as math department heads at two different schools, Pat brings a wealth of skill to the table. Currently, she lends her mathematical expertise to Edmonton Public Schools as a Math 30-1 upgrading instructor. As well, Pat has also taught the Pure 30 course at summer school for EPSB.

Pat’s teaching style complements that of Dean. And, as such, students are always presented with a variety of strategy options when trying to navigate the intricacies of the Math 30-1 course.

With an upbeat personality, her approachability and a capacity to take even the most complex of concepts and reduce it to simple terms, Pat continues to earn rave reviews from the students!
