Larry Guilloux

Calgary Board of Education 23 years

Larry started teaching with the Calgary Board of Education in 1998 at the age of 31. Having worked outside the education business for 7 years before going back to school, personal life experiences have shaped the educator he is today. In 2004 Larry joined Western Canada High School and has been teaching Chemistry 20, 30 and IB ever since. In 2014 Larry was recognized by being nominated for an APEGA excellence in teaching award. Larry stays active by playing hockey and skiing in the winter and golf, hiking and canoeing in the summer.

Calgary Highschool Teacher (12 YEARS)

Charles is an experienced Chemistry Teacher with over twelve years of experience teaching Chemistry and Science at all levels. He has taught AP and IB Chemistry and is currently a teacher and coordinating teacher at his High School. Charles has been nominated for an APPEGA Teacher Award, and has been a contributor to Alberta Learning committees dealing with Chemistry 30 Item-Writing and Item-Analysis. Charles enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, hiking, and skiing.

Charlene Parenteau

Calgary Highschool Teacher (over 5 years)

Charlene is a bright and passionate young teacher who has an extensive chemistry background having completed several high-level chemistry courses during her science degree. Armed with her knowledge in science she provides students with an in-depth appreciation for all aspects of chemistry. Charlene has immense insight into assessments and has worked on numerous district initiatives in Chemistry 30 and was part of a small working group to form a Science 10 district exam. Outside of the classroom, Charlene enjoys hiking with her Dalmatian puppy and is an avid snowboarder. Charlene’s positive energy is contagious not only to her students but to everyone around her.
