Dave Gowans

Dave is arguably one of the most popular RTD instructors because of his enthusiasm and passion for teaching Biology. He prides himself on knowing the curriculum and diploma style questions very well, and works extensively in the review classes to break down questions to increase student success and confidence. Dave was extensively involved with Alberta Learning in many roles including a former supervisor and group leader of the written section. Dave has also been part of the item writing / exam validation committees for many years as well.

Dave knows the Biology diploma and often receives emails back from participants in his course to Thank him for their confidence going into the exam and how their marks increased – sometimes even by upwards of 30%. Dave’s course always fills – register early!

Dave has also recently been the head science consultant for CSSD, a testament to his skills in the classroom and diverse curriculum knowledge. Dave is one of the originals with RTD Learning and continues to bring his enthusiasm and knowledge to each class. When not hard at work Dave is an avid fly fisherman and coaching his sons’ football and soccer teams.

Beloved by her students, Kris brings a tremendous amount of expertise to her Biology review. An instructor at National Sport school working with students committed to training in Olympic sports, she knows how motivate and inspire students within restricted time frames. Her reviews from her students always speak of her extensive knowledge of biology and of the diploma exam and her high energy.

When not in the classroom she can be found with her 3 young sons in xc skiing, gymnastics and outdoor pursuits. Kris is an avid runner herself and participates in soldiers of fitness program, challenge courses and her newest pursuit body sculpting.
